What to Pack for Kenya's Changing Landscapes

What to Pack for Kenya's Changing Landscapes

Kenya's climates can shift within a single itinerary. The useful principle is layering: a light base, a warm mid-layer for dawn, and a compact rain shell that earns its space when weather changes.

Prioritise useful items

Pack neutral clothing, closed walking shoes, a sun hat, reusable bottle, binoculars, and a small day bag. Soft-sided luggage is easier to handle on light aircraft and safari vehicles.

Leave room

A smaller bag is easier on every transfer. Laundry is available at many camps, and leaving spare space makes it possible to buy directly from local makers along the way.
